I painted this in my garden for inspiration on 5th February 2010.
Garden Impression
I stand in front of a tall blank canvas
Paint and brushes waiting ready.
Best not to stare too long at nothingness
Be bold, green I think I’ll use today.
I’m at my easel in the garden.
Take the piece of foam with white stick handle,
Swish it through the paint till laden
And imitate the leaves that dangle.
Now the glaring white does not intimidate.
The leaf shaped green offers some encouragement.
Faster now I dip and swipe feeling strange elation.
My brow less creased I hurry to fulfilment.
I cannot claim this a masterpiece
But something that was felt inside is exposed
To view, open to be criticised.
Care not I for I am now at peace.
